Apple Opens Siri AI to Every App in iOS 27.3 Beta

Apple's iOS 27.3 beta opens Siri AI to every developer with App Intents and app skills, adds Siri actions across Apple's apps, and four new languages.

Apple has opened its rebuilt Siri assistant to every app developer. The Siri AI Developer Preview arrived on November 3, 2026, in the first iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 betas, letting third-party apps plug their content and actions directly into Siri AI for the first time.

What Apple announced

Apple's developer preview gives any developer access to Siri AI, not just a small group of partners. Until now, Siri AI could only work with actions and data that fit Apple's own system-defined schemas. The preview removes that limit, so apps can bring their own custom content and actions into the assistant. Apple says the features will reach customers in a few months, with App Store submissions for apps using Siri AI integrations opening in spring 2027.

How any app can plug into Siri AI

Developers connect their apps through App Intents, the framework they already use for Shortcuts and widgets. A Swift macro turns a new or existing custom intent into a tool Siri can call, and there is no new entitlement or program to join. Siri AI can then carry out requests in plain words, from checking a delivery to booking a reservation or placing an order. Apple also introduced app skills for requests that are too complex for a single action. A skill teaches Siri AI how to combine several actions into one workflow, such as searching for items, filling a basket, picking payment and delivery, and confirming an order. Siri AI can also surface anything in the Spotlight semantic index, not only items that match Apple's schemas, and it can find content in one app, move it to a second app, and act on it there.

New Siri actions across Apple's own apps

Apple is also rolling out new Siri AI actions across 16 of its own apps, including Calendar, Files, Finder, Journal, Mail, Maps, Messages, Music, Notes, Photos, Preview, Reminders, Safari, Shortcuts and Weather. In Mail, Siri can unsubscribe you from mailing lists and undo recently sent messages. In Safari, it can clear browsing history, manage tabs and windows, save articles to a Reading List, and close duplicate tabs. In Files, it can organize content and delete files you have not accessed for a set period. Other examples include finding a coffee shop visited last week and creating a playlist in Apple Music.

Four new languages, and China testing

The beta also expands Siri AI to four new languages: Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian. That brings the total to 10, after iOS 27.2 added French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish to the English-only launch. The same beta begins Apple Intelligence testing in mainland China, arriving in December with Alibaba's Qwen powering features such as Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence, but without Siri AI.

What is still limited, and when users get it

This is a developer preview, not a general release. During the preview, Siri AI works with an app only in builds developers run themselves or share with internal TestFlight testers, not with external testers or App Store versions. Siri AI needs an Apple Intelligence-enabled device set to a supported language, and it is not available to users under 13. It is also still unavailable in the European Union on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, where Apple says it is working constructively with the EU on a path forward. Certain Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models, including Siri AI, are subject to daily usage limits. Apple will host Apple Intelligence Group Labs on November 4-5 to answer developer questions.
