Moonshot AI Expands to Singapore, Posts First Sales Role
Moonshot AI is hiring in Singapore after a new LinkedIn sales posting, as the Tencent-backed Kimi K3 maker pushes open-weight models into Southeast Asia.
Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI is setting up operations in Singapore. A new sales role appeared on the company's LinkedIn page this week, signaling the Kimi K3 maker's first hiring push in Southeast Asia.
A new sales role in Singapore
The job posting, dated Tuesday, seeks candidates with experience in sales, venture capital, consulting, product, or engineering. The hire is expected to turn early wins into scalable revenue, strategic partnerships, and market presence.
The Kimi K3 story
Moonshot released its Kimi K3 model in July, which it says is the world's largest open-weight AI system. The company claims the model delivers performance approaching that of Anthropic's models.
Groundwork laid since 2023
Business registry records show Moonshot has had a Singapore entity since July 2023, which was renamed Novascent in June 2026. The new hiring push suggests the office is now being built out in earnest. The Beijing-based company did not respond to a request for comment.
Why it matters
Backed by Tencent, Meituan, and China Mobile, Moonshot is racing to sell its open-weight models to global enterprises. A Singapore base gives it a neutral, well-connected hub for Southeast Asia as export-focused Chinese AI firms look for customers beyond home.
